A. Open File
Before we start with image editing, let's learn to manage graphic files. First of all, open a few pictures from our sample folder using the following ways:
1. Select File > Select Open or Command + O on Mac and Ctrl + O on Windows
2. Select the name of the file you want to open. If the file does not appear, select the option for showing all files from the Files Of Type (Windows OS ) or Enable (Mac OS) pop-up menu.

B. Open a recently used file
To specify the number of files listed in the Open Recent menu, change the Recent File List Contains option in the File Handling preferences. Choose Edit > Preferences > File Handling (on Windows OS ), or Photoshop > Preferences > File Handling (On Mac OS).
